Dear Journal,

Today I found out that Raymond, the man I have been writing about for the past few months, is a fraud. In fact, he is married to a woman whose self-esteem is so low, she accepts the fact that he routinely cheats on her with other women. She accepts this and has the nerve to feel sorry for us, the other women. I am in a deep, dark place right now because I am hurting, but I pray to God that I never become her. I want a man, but I want a man of my own.

How do you get the idea for your book, Yesterday’s Lies?

I wanted to write a story about friends through their teens and years into adulthood.

What is your favorite line from your book?

“I just want to find a love of my own, one to call my own.”

Which of your characters do you believe are most like you and why question?

Toni is most like me because she loves fast and hard. She’s very trusting and expressive.

What message do you hope readers will take away from your book?

Sometimes when we think we are helping the situation by not being truthful we are actually making matters worse.

How did you get published?

I self-published.

What have been your greatest literary accomplishments?

My first book received a New Author of the Year award from an online literary group. It was so long ago I can’t recall the name of the organization

Do you have any new books in the works?

A few ideas but nothing is actually being written right now.

Is there anything else you would like the readers to know?

I love to get feedback from readers. I like to know what they liked and didn’t like. I love visiting book clubs to discuss my books.
