Surely my blackness does not cause a shadow to cross your path when I walk by.
Surely you see how it glows about me bringing the sun to its knees.
I am from this land because I have worked its rich soil in which I have tilled.
Surely you know about my children, the ones who have been laid to rest in times of unrest.
They have worn their scars on their backs, forced to hide their royal priesthood in the cloak of darkness.
Surely you see that now they stand in all their glory. Surely you see their beauty.
