Close to Home – Brian W. Smith

Close to Home by Brian W. Smith was a suspense filled novella. Mr. Smith didn’t disappoint. I ate it up in two settings. All I can say is wow!!!!!! The main character Vera Gordon is a woman scorned. This story line goes from infidelity to murder to suicide. Office Cole literally comes to her rescue after a long night of working as a police officer. The character development was on point. They were realistic and believable. The suspense and drama started at the beginning and went straight to the end. It is a cliffhanger and was unpredictable. I really wanted to slap Mr. Smith. Lol. I give this novella 5 stars. Thanks for a good short read.
